About
About CasperEdits
CasperEdits is an independent guide to video editing. We help beginners and intermediate editors learn the craft in a clear order.
What we publish
We publish step-by-step guides on the parts of editing that decide whether a video feels clean or messy: organizing a project, cutting, pacing, color, sound, export settings and keeping a computer running smoothly. Each guide has an objective, what you need first, numbered steps, examples, common mistakes and links to related guides.
Most of what we teach is universal. A good cut point, a balanced voice and a sensible export setting are the same in any program. So we write universal guides first, and we add separate guides that show exact menus in DaVinci Resolve and CapCut.
What makes this site different
- A learning order, not a pile of posts. The Editing Path Finder turns your level, project, software and goal into a numbered list of our guides.
- Clear scope. Every guide says whether it is universal or written for one app, and which version we used.
- Honest tools. Our tools show estimates and tell you where each number comes from.
Who this is for
New editors who want a starting point, and people who already edit but want better pacing, cleaner audio, steadier color and fewer export problems. We write for readers in the United States and use US English.
Independence
CasperEdits is not affiliated with Blackmagic Design, ByteDance (CapCut) or any other software maker. Product names belong to their owners. We explain how to do things in our own words and do not copy official documentation. Read how we work in our editorial policy.
Tell us what is wrong
Software changes. If a menu name is out of date or a step does not work for you, please tell us on the contact page. We would rather fix it than leave it.
