This policy explains what information CasperEdits (“we”, “us”) handles when you visit casperedits.com, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skipped.

The short version

• You do not need an account to use this site, and we do not ask for your name to read guides.
• Our tools run in your browser. The checklists save your ticks in your own browser storage. We do not receive them.
• Our servers keep standard technical logs. We may use analytics and, in the future, advertising services. Those services may use cookies.

Information we handle

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use it only to answer you and to improve the site. We do not sell it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting servers may record your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the time of the request. We use this for security, fixing errors and understanding how the site is used.

Search and tools

When you use site search, the Path Finder or the export selector, your choices are sent to our server as part of the page address so we can show the result. We do not build a profile of you from them.

Cookies and local storage

The site stores two small things in your browser: your chosen light or dark theme, and the ticks on the checklists. These stay on your device and you can clear them in your browser settings.

Analytics or advertising services, if we turn them on, may set their own cookies or similar technologies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may change how ads or features appear.

Advertising

We may show ads from third parties such as Google AdSense. If we do, those companies may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. Our guides may link to other sites, such as software makers. We do not control their privacy practices. Read their policies before you share information.

Security and retention

We use reasonable measures to protect the site. No system is perfectly secure. We keep emails and logs only as long as we need them for the purposes above or as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
